The dialogue session, organized by the General Directorate of Social Development in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in cooperation with Nizwa Hospital, titled “Youth Between Reality and Aspirations,” discussed the problems facing young people, including health and psychological aspects, as well as religious, social, and financial aspects.
The dialogue session, held at the Inter City Hotel hall in Nizwa and sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Zaidi, Governor of Manah, was attended by a number of governmental, civil, and educational institutions. It aimed to enlighten participants about the challenges faced by youth and help them make sound decisions to build stable and happy families.
Dr. Kafalah bint Hammoud Al Amiriya, Assistant Director of the Family Development Department in the Governorate, said that the Sultanate of Oman’s interest in the Omani family is reflected in the social principles of the Basic Law of the State, which made the family the foundation of society, and organized means to protect it, preserve its legal entity, strengthen its bonds and values, and care for its members.
She added that building a stable and happy family is a noble goal that every young man and woman strives for, but this goal requires good planning and psychological, social, and economic preparation, in addition to discussing various aspects that affect this decision.
The session addressed health topics including the importance of premarital screening, prevention of hereditary blood diseases, the importance of psychological stability and dealing with stress, family dialogue and its importance, the role of religious values in building the family, good morals, and social responsibility.
