Muscat – Oman News Agency: A meeting of the team responsible for following up on preparations to launch an expanded package for screening newborns for metabolic diseases, and screening those planning to marry for some hereditary blood diseases and infectious diseases, was held yesterday at the Ministry of Health. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Harib Al-Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs. During the meeting, His Excellency emphasized that this expansion in services for the target groups, which will be launched in January 2025, comes to help community members and those planning to marry in building a healthy and stable family, and having healthy children. This will contribute in the future to building a society with a solid foundation because the family is the basic building block of any society.
